The Problem
Consulting stakeholders and working independently, my goal was to create MomentIM - a platform that empowers streamers by providing them with tools to create shareable moments with their fans. After conducting research, I discovered that streamers require greater control over their traffic, engagement, and revenue. To address this issue, I developed a solution that enhances their engagement and offerings while generating a reliable source of recurring income. The central question that guided my work was: 'How can we create a platform that enables streamers to produce 'MomentIMs,' increasing their engagement and offerings and creating a dependable source of recurring income?'
The Solution
After conducting extensive research, my objective was to disrupt the streaming industry by providing streamers with a cutting-edge platform that empowers them to take control of their revenue and engagement with their fans. MomentIM would be the platform to prioritize engagement above all else, recognizing that deeper connections between creators and their audience are essential to fostering a vibrant and unique streaming community. By putting the needs of streamers first, MomentIM's solution will undoubtedly benefit the individuals who make the streaming world such a dynamic and exciting place.

Process

"A typical week is 50+ hours of streaming, then spend a couple of hours a day creating content for other platforms and spending time with family" - User Interview

I conducted user interviews and surveyed 16 users to gather valuable feedback on the product. I then analyzed the data using various methods, including affinity mapping, journey mapping, defining user types and personas, creating user flows, wireframing, and prototyping to synthesize insights that could guide product development.

After conducting user interviews and collecting valuable insights, I organized the information into an affinity diagram to synthesize my research, and identify trends and key insights. The analysis of the data revealed several interesting findings, including:

To address these issues and capitalize on the insights gathered from user interviews, I took the following steps:

Using these tools and techniques, I expanded on the findings from the user interviews and identified areas for improvement in our product development process. Specifically, I identified a need to educate users about the benefits of NFT ownership or offerings to address the significant distrust of NFTs that I uncovered during my research. By taking these steps, I created a more user-focused product that addressed key pain points and delivered a better overall experience for our users.

Prototype

To ensure that our platform was user-centered, I started the prototyping process after refining our user flows. The following steps were taken to create the prototypes:

Hand-sketching Wireframes: I sketched wireframes on paper, which helped me visualize the overall layout of the website.

Clickable Prototypes: To test the wireframes, I created clickable prototypes that I tested with five individuals in our target market. This allowed me to make crucial revisions and adjust the strategy based on feedback.

Digital Wireframes: After finalizing the direction, I digitized the website wireframes, which provided a more professional look to the design.

Component Library and Style Guide: To save time and simplify the process for future team members, I created a Component Library, Style Guide, and Variants. These tools helped ensure consistency across the website.

Lastly, I created responsive website wireframes that were optimized for different screen sizes and devices.

By following these steps, I was able to create a user-friendly and visually appealing platform that met the needs of our target audience.

Test & Iterate

Throughout the development process, I ensured that each milestone was evaluated through rigorous user testing to validate the changes' effectiveness. To achieve this, I employed the following approach:

Recruited Test Users: I identified and recruited individuals who matched our target market to provide insights into the changes' effectiveness.

Gathered Feedback: Using surveys, interviews, and observation, I collected valuable feedback from the test groups. The feedback was used to determine areas where the logic was unclear or required further iteration.

Identified Practical Elements: The test groups also provided insights into practical elements that made sense and effectively enhanced user experience.

Made Necessary Revisions: Based on the feedback collected, I made necessary revisions to the platform to ensure that it met the users' needs and resolved any issues encountered during the testing process.

Overall, the user testing process was critical in ensuring that the platform met the needs of our target market and provided a seamless user experience.
