The Problem
MultiView encountered significant challenges with its platform, AudienceView. The existing platform, primarily web-based, posed a considerable challenge for users, as it was often confusing, impeding their ability to navigate and utilize its features effectively. The platform's lack of responsiveness limited its functionality to desktop and laptop devices.

AudienceView catered to both internal sales teams and external agencies, yet it struggled to unlock its full potential for internal sales. This underutilization resulted in missed revenue opportunities. The company was eager to enhance internal adoption of the platform to drive sales growth, but this proved to be a formidable task.

The primary issues encompassed user confusion, an urgent need for a platform redesign, and the imperative to increase internal platform usage to boost sales performance. Addressing these challenges was a critical endeavor, setting the goal to rectify these issues and create a more effective and user-friendly platform.
The Solution
A comprehensive set of solutions was implemented. First, the platform gained the framework to become responsive, ensuring that users could access and use it seamlessly from various devices.

AudienceView was also subject to a thorough redesign, primarily focusing on improving user-friendliness. Central to this redesign was introducing a dashboard that significantly streamlined the user experience. This dashboard was designed to reduce the number of steps users had to take to find solutions, effectively addressing user confusion. Furthermore, it incorporated elements users had previously pointed out as missing, enhancing the platform's overall functionality and completeness.

A comprehensive design system and an icon library were created to maintain consistency and facilitate future developments. These assets ensured uniformity in design throughout the platform, enhancing aesthetics while providing a structured framework for scalability and future enhancements. This transformation collectively rendered AudienceView more adaptable, user-friendly, and consistent, effectively addressing the initial challenges and positioning the company for increased internal adoption and improved sales performance.

Process

For over 20 years Multiview has helped thousands of businesses reach their growth goals using proven digital marketing strategies.

As the contracted UX Designer and Information Architect, I collaborated with stakeholders to gather valuable insights through heuristic evaluations and their internal research. This informed the creation of user flows and a strategic roadmap aligned with the identified insights. Subsequently, I developed wireframes and interactive, clickable prototypes, enabling stakeholders to conduct internal testing and refinement. The ultimate outcome is the ongoing development of a responsive web product meticulously crafted to meet user needs and expectations.

Empathize

In the empathize phase, I delved into a thorough understanding of the platform's users and their needs. MultiView had already provided valuable user research data, which served as my foundation for empathizing with the users. This data allowed me to gain insights into their pain points, preferences, and expectations.

This holistic approach ensured that the subsequent ideation and design phases were firmly grounded in user-centric insights and industry knowledge, ultimately leading to a more effective and user-friendly AudienceView platform. In the image below, please see an example of a heuristic evaluation of the old platform.

Information Architecture

In the Information Architecture phase, the primary focus was structuring and organizing the platform's information to determine its optimal functionality and user-friendliness. This phase involved several key activities to ensure a well-structured and easily navigable platform:

This Information Architecture phase laid the foundation for an organized, user-friendly, and intuitively structured AudienceView platform, where users could seamlessly access the required information.

Prototyping

The Prototyping phase was a critical step in transforming the AudienceView platform. It involved creating tangible representations of the design concepts and functionality envisioned during the earlier phases. Here are the key actions taken in this phase:

The Prototyping phase was pivotal in bringing the envisioned improvements to life, creating a foundation for the refined and user-friendly AudienceView platform.
